The Winchester Police Department is continuing an investigation into a bomb threat at Rubbermaid Commercial Products. The Frederick County Emergency Communications Center received a call around 4:30 Monday morning from an individual claiming there was a bomb at Rubbermaid. The business was evacuated and a thorough search of the building was done.
A number of neighboring law enforcement agencies assisted the Winchester Police Department in investigating the incident. We would like to extend our appreciation to K-9 units from Virginia State Police, Mount Weather Police, and the Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office for responding to the scene and determining there was no immediate threat. In addition to the K-9 units, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Frederick County Emergency Communications Center, and the Winchester Emergency Communications Center worked together to ensure the safety of local residents.
