Winchester Police arrested Matthew Clark Thompson, 41, of Winchester, during a traffic stop on December 18th at approximately 6:00 p.m. During the stop, officers observed heroin in plain view in the vehicle. Thompson has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice.
Thompson resisted arrest but was placed into custody without injury or further incident. In addition to the heroin, the WPD collected needles, assorted unidentified pills, and containers of synthetic anabolic steroids.
Thompson is being held at the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center.
