Counterfeit Money Arrest

On July 23, 2014 at approximately 11:20 a.m. officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to a business located in the first block of South Loudoun Street for a report of a male who attempted to pass counterfeit money. The business did not accept the $100 bill and the male left the business. A detailed description of the male was provided and officers made contact with a male who matched the description in the area of Boscawen Street and South Loudoun Street. In the process of detaining the male for investigation purposes the male pulled away from the officer, and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit the male was arrested in the 100 block of North Washington Street.

The male was identified as Joseph Davet. Mr. Davet is a 19 year old male from Winchester. Mr. Davet was arrested for Obstruction of Justice, Obtaining Money by False Pretense and Possession of Counterfeit Money and transported to the jail.
