A Winchester man was arrested this afternoon and charged with abduction after an incident on Green Street. At 2 p.m. officers were called to the 600 block of Green Street for an attempted abduction. Officers were told that 25-year-old Margarito Cigarrora-Reyes of Winchester physically picked up a 9-year-old female as she was getting into a vehicle. The female’s caregiver yelled at the male and he left the area on foot. A fast-acting officer identified the male within two minutes of the call being dispatched, based on a description given by an emergency communications specialist. Cigarrora-Reyes was arrested in the 300 block of Green Street. He was taken to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center and charged with abduction. The 9-year-old female was not injured.
The quick actions of the caregiver, Emergency Communications Specialist III Adrianne Williams, and Master Patrol Officer A.J. McCoy led to the successful apprehension of the suspect in this incident.
