Published on October 10, 2024

David Ross Young, 39, was arrested by Winchester Police yesterday, October 9th, 2024. Officers obtained a felony warrant against Young for threats on October 4th and was also wanted on outstanding charges from Frederick County. He had evaded arrest for multiple days.

In the afternoon of October 9th, Young made statements implying he was at John Handley High School watching for the Winchester Department of Social Services and a child. JHHS went on secure status, working with WPD supervisors to protect the school. WPD was able to locate and apprehend Young near the victim’s house on Orchard Avenue. No one was injured in this incident.

In close partnership with Winchester Public Schools, we were able to address the situation swiftly and ensure the well-being of all involved.
