Shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, a patrol officer with the Winchester Police Department heard multiple gunshots in the 200 block of North Cameron St. Officers quickly located a group of people at an apartment complex who advised there was a male with a firearm.
Manuel Griffin, 27, of Winchester, Va, was immediately taken into custody for shooting into an apartment and was charged with discharging firearms within or at a dwelling house, reckless handling of a firearm, and willfully discharging firearms in a public place. He was transported to the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. No one was injured in this incident.
The Winchester Police Department is confident that this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the community.
